LONG SERVING LAWYER RETIRES AFTER 42 YEARS
After 42 years of working in the legal profession, Steven Pollitt has retired as a partner at Huddersfield law firm, Eaton Smith.
Steven (pictured) started his legal career in 1972 with Marshall Mills & Sykes which subsequently merged with Eaton Smith & Downey in 1997 and made a major contribution to the development of the merged firm. As a senior member of the Dispute Resolution Team Steven specialised in civil litigation and employment matters and supervised the firm’s debt collection service, representing businesses of all sizes in a range of sectors.
As a high profile figure in the local business community over the years with roles including Chairman of the Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership, board member and former President of the MYCCI, as well as sitting as a tribunal judge, this role he will continue with in the future along with being president elect of the MYCCI and also still representing Eaton Smith as an ambassador of the firm.
A long-standing thespian with the Hepworth Players, and lead singer in his own rock ‘n’ roll band, Gerry and the Atricks means he will be kept busy in his retirement.
Also retiring is his long serving secretary Angel Procter, pictured with Steven below.
Senior partner Andrew Sugden commented “he is a much respected lawyer, and his sound advice and good sense has been of great benefit to many in all aspects of the law”
